I haven’t been this excited about highlighter’s since I was in high school, and having started off with a basic MUA highlighting shade to try out, was suddnely thrown into the luminous world of highlighting palettes and shades!
Being a novice, I decided to start off with the highly reviewed high street sleek highlighting pallete – Cleopatra’s kiss. I’m in love!
I love love love the packaging; it’s sleek (excuse the pun) luxurious gold literally makes it gleam from my dressing table.
Inside you have two creamy colours and two powdery textures. I find the creamy textures easier to apply the highlighter onto specific areas and draw clearer lines for where I want to highlight a feature. The powder application is perfect to set it with an overall shimmer, or to use on it’s own for a light natural look.
One thing I wasn’t happy with was the brush applicator. It’s too small, the bristle’s too course and not at all ideal for blending in the product. After the first use, I went straight to my contouring brushes for a better application.
I’ve added a few swatches below. As you can see this particular palatte is perfect for adding a golden glow to my skin tone (Asian brown). There are bronze shades and ivory cream (with a super subtle pinkish tone) colours that blend in really well for medium-deep skin tones, great for both a nude make up look. It’s subtle and very easily build-able for day to night looks!
Sleek are always having great deals at Superdrug and I manage to grab this for bargain busting £7.99!
