    There is nothing more exciting than having a holiday to look forward to within the first month of the year. It wipes away the holiday blues and gets you buzzing with a countdown for the next exciting adventure. The weather this January has been a roller coaster of deceivingly light sunny days to a flurry of stormy wind and rain; so as you can imagine, the warm, gold sun of the canary islands was welcomed with opened arms.     Christmas in Cornwall: Photo diary; Dec 17

    For the past few Christmas holidays we’ve headed North seeking the snow in the stunning Scottish highlands, however this year, we fancied a change of scenery and decided to chase the sea along the Cornish coast. During the Christmas week, we explored as much of the coastline as we could, particularly a few ionic points!     Rick Stein; Porthleven

    While exploring the Cornish coast this Christmas, we stumbled up Rick Stein’s restaurant in Porthleven! Set beside this delightful little harbour, we settled for a delicious dinner!   First course:  COARSE PORK TERRINE  Served with beetroot chutney and sourdough.As titled, the terrine definitely was course and the soughbread quite hard, but both were complimented by the chutney very well. Second Course: GRILLED CORNISH HAKE. With laksa noodlesand sambal belacan We couldn’t come here without trying the fish; and it was absolutely delicious and probably one of my favourite fish dishes!
