While exploring the Cornish coast this Christmas, we stumbled up Rick Stein’s restaurant in Porthleven! Set beside this delightful little harbour, we settled for a delicious dinner!
First course: COARSE PORK TERRINE Served with beetroot chutney and sourdough.As titled, the terrine definitely was course and the soughbread quite hard, but both were complimented by the chutney very well.
Second Course: GRILLED CORNISH HAKE. With laksa noodlesand sambal belacan
We couldn’t come here without trying the fish; and it was absolutely delicious and probably one of my favourite fish dishes! The Hake was soft and full of flavour, complimented by creamy and satisfying laksa.
And finally for dessert: APPLE AND CINNAMON CRUMBLE With salted caramel ice cream.It’s iconically one of my favourite desserts, preferable homemade. With added cinnamon and salted caramel, it enhanced my crumble experience to serious levels!
If you are every in the area or heading towards Cornwall, Rick’s restaurant in this cost town is definitely a must-eat-at- and do not forget to try the fish!
